山西太谷

太谷位於晉中盆地東北部、太原以南的黃土高原上，葡萄園分布在太行山與呂梁山之間的緩坡，平均海拔 870–950 米。屬大陸性氣候，乾旱少雨，年均氣溫 9.8℃，年降水量約 450 毫米，日照強烈、晝夜溫差大；深厚沙壤土排水良好。
1997 年，陳進強與法國詹威爾在波爾多學者 Denis Boubals 協助下創辦怡園酒莊，1998 年種下從法國引進的十萬多株葡萄苗。酒莊以赤霞珠、梅鹿輒、品麗珠、霞多麗、白詩南起家，2006 年起引入馬瑟蘭（Marselan）、阿里亞尼考（Aglianico）等小眾品種。
ENGLISH
Taigu sits on the Loess Plateau south of Taiyuan, in the north-east of the Jinzhong Basin. Vineyards occupy gentle slopes between the Taihang and Lüliang ranges at 870–950 metres. The continental climate is dry with abundant sunshine and wide day–night temperature swings; the average annual temperature is 9.8°C with roughly 450 mm of rain, and deep sandy loam soils drain freely.
In 1997, Chen Jinqiang and French partner Janvier founded Grace Vineyard here with guidance from Bordeaux scholar Denis Boubals, planting more than 100,000 French vine cuttings in 1998. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc came first; Marselan and Aglianico followed from 2006.
